This exquisite antique Mittenwald violin, crafted circa 1800, represents the pinnacle of early 19th-century Bavarian lutherie. Fine-grain spruce top and nicely flamed one-piece maple back, golden-brown varnish. The tone of this violin is rich and clear with a lyrical quality. This antique instrument would be ideal for advanced players. 1948 letter-certificate from Lyon & Healy firm attributing this instrument to Bavarian violin school is included.
