The instrument features the classic "Hopf model" with its signature angular contours, highly arched top, and flat back. It is finished in a beautiful, transparent varnish typical of the Vogtland region. This instrument possesses a mature, warm voice with a broad range of interpretive opportunities. This 200-year-old character instrument is in excellent condition and ready to play, having undergone professional setup to ensure its carrying resonance and wealth of timbres are preserved.
This violin has been certified as genuine David Hopf by French expert Jean-Jacques Rampal.
